Fulfilling its role as monitor/regulator of the telecommunications industry, the Georgia Public Service Commission brings to the attention of Georgians a telecommunications matter that is pending resolution in Fulton County Superior Court. James Michael Moore d/b/a/ Satellite Specialists against AMF Bowling Centers, Inc. (AMF) is a case that involves transmission of unsolicited facsimiles, a practice which violates the Federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991 (47 U.S.C. § 227). The settlement class is defined as all persons or entities who maintain that they received an unsolicited telephone facsimile advertisement from, or on behalf of, AMF in Georgia. Once the case receives final approval by Superior Court, AMF will establish a fund of up to $1 million that will be disbursed in the following manner:
