PSC to Hold Oral Arguments on April 23, 2019

The Georgia Public Service Commission will hold oral arguments in Docket Number 42407 regarding the petition of a group of rate payers seeking expedited declaratory ruling and a Georgia Power Company petition for declaratory ruling. The arguments are regarding a class action case. The Commission has been asked to determine the definition of “usage revenue,” “total revenue,” and “revenue” pertaining to the municipal franchise fee. The arguments will be heard by the Commission on Tuesday April 23, 2019 at 9 a.m. in room 110 at 244 Washington Street, S.W. Atlanta, Georgia.

Commission Reminds Georgians to Stay Safe by Calling 811 before Digging: April Is National Safe Digging Month

The Georgia Public Service Commission reminds all Georgians that April is National Safe Digging Month. The law requires anyone who plans to excavate where underground utilities are located to call 8-1-1 before they dig. The process is simple and can prevent major damage that can endanger and inconvenience our communities and cause economic disruption. Damage from excavation activities to gas and water pipelines, along with sewer systems and buried distribution power lines, remains a leading cause of utility incidents resulting in death or injury.
