December 3, 2019 – (ATLANTA) This year, both Atlanta Gas Light and Georgia Power asked the Georgia Public Service Commission to increase rates on natural gas and electricity respectively.
After several hearings that included testimony from PSC advocacy staff, the two companies and dozens of intervenors, the elected PSC Commissioners are expected to make final decisions on the utilities’ requests this month. On Dec. 17, the Commissioners will vote on Georgia Power’s rate case. On Dec. 19, the commissioners will vote on Atlanta Gas Light’s rate case.

Commissioner Vice Chair Tim Echols has been named a finalist for the Individual Rising Star Award. Also in the running for Lifetime Achievement is former Georgia PSC Commissioner Stan Wise.

September 26, 2019 – (ATLANTA) – The Georgia Public Service Commission has scheduled a hearing on Georgia Power’s request for a rate increase. The hearing is scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 30, continue Tuesday, Oct. 1, and will conclude on Wednesday, Oct. 2 if not concluded earlier.
Each day, the hearing will be held from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in the first floor Hearing Room, 244 Washington Street, SW, Atlanta, GA 30335.

Atlanta, July 16, 2019 - The Georgia Public Service Commission on Tuesday finalized Georgia Power Company’s 2019 Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) in Dockets 42310 and 42311. As mandated by state law, the IRP is Georgia Power’s three-year plan for the state’s energy needs.
